About Us

About Us.

Under new ownership since December 2017, Cook Bake Decorate is a family owned business with both an online presence and a physical shop, open to the Public and Trade. The shop is located in the South Leicestershire market town of Lutterworth where the business itself has been trading since 2005. The shop is easily spotted from the main road thanks to our prominent location and large exterior signage. With the bonus of ample free parking in our customer car park, shopping with us couldn’t be easier.

The name Cook Bake Decorate encapsulates our passion. This can be seen in the vast range of bespoke creations on our Facebook pages and websites. In addition, our daughter entered her first ever cake competition last year at Cake International. She came home with a Silver Award and is returning this year to chase a Gold Award. Her passion fuels ours to make baking fun for everyone!

In store we sell a broad spectrum of merchandise that includes a vast variety of bakeware, tools, equipment, cases & liners, icings, colours, boards & boxes, ribbons and a wide range of additional materials. We also stock one of South Leicestershire's largest range of foil and helium balloons. Therefore the name reflects exactly what you'll find in store.

Once inside the shop you can see the vast array of baking materials available, the bright and vibrant colours from the top brands, the shiny shelves of boards, the array of balloons and ribbons make the shop a bright and colourful place to be. So whether you're just starting out with your first cake making project or if you are an experienced baker then we are sure to have what you need to complete your cake. Like most small yet professional businesses, we have simple aims and ambitions. The primary one is to offer value for money products with great customer service and our hands on personal approach allows us to do just that.

Our customers freely tell everyone that we are more than just a shop to buy things from. Quite often, customers come in just to see what we are busy baking and creating in our open plan kitchen. We have a wealth of knowledge with our background being in bespoke cake making. We also pride ourselves on having used almost everything we sell. That enables us to advise on best ways to use, incorporate and/or bring products together.

We would love you to pop into the shop, hopefully to buy of course but we welcome everyone in to browse through the innovative and creative products we have on offer or just to come and say hi, have a chat and meet us.

Happy Baking,

Kully & Becky

Pioneering inventor Sir Frank Whittle has been honoured with a green plaque, with the unveiling taking place at the Leicestershire site where he developed the jet engine.

On Thursday, 29 June, the plaque was installed at the Ladywood Works in Leicester Road, Lutterworth where Sir Frank's workshops and test sites were located.

A representative from Rolls Royce joined other dignitaries for the unveiling of the plaque.

Sir Frank Whittle was an enormously popular choice among the people of Leicestershire to receive a green plaque. His contribution to the jet age has been recognised worldwide. Person : Councillor Pam Posnett, County Council cabinet member for green plaques

Supporters of Lutterworth Museum nominated Sir Frank for the green plaque.

Geoff Smith, from the museum group, said: “From 1938 to 1948, the world was changed by a small group of people, led by Sir Frank, working at the Ladywood Works in Lutterworth.

"A new aircraft power unit was designed and tested under wartime conditions and now its success can be seen in every airport around the world.”

The shortlist has also been announced for the latest list of potential green plaque recipients. The list includes an astronomer, a Crimean War nurse and a former lace factory.
